Yes! I prefer to meet in person for our first session, but if we determine that it makes sense for you to utilize teletherapy then I’m more than happy to continue to see you virtually.
-
Great question! I utilize a holistic approach that includes ACT, CBT, DBT, somatic therapy, IFS, evolutionary psychology and a whole lot more. There is no one size fit’s all therapeutic approach or technique, so it is my job to seek out diverse resources and skills to best meet the needs of unique individuals. Please ask more about this in our first session if you have questions or concerns!

You decide when our collaborative efforts are no longer benefiting you. That’s when our sessions end. This is a paramount concept of our work: YOU are in charge. I am here to help, assist, collaborate, provide resources/direction, etc. We will work together to decide on the frequency and duration of our sessions. I can make recommendations based on best-practices and evidence-based research findings, but ultimately we will do what works best for you.

My office is located in the back of 515 James St in Geneva, IL - unit #4. The office is in a dark blue house that has been converted into office space. I provide a private entrance in the back for client use, or you can park on the street in front of the building and enter through the main lobby. There is a small bathroom in the building for your convenience, located between my lobby and the building lobby. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have questions about location, parking, or privacy!

I have experience seeing clients of all ages - from 3 year olds to 90 year olds! But my favorite people to work with are those over the age of 12. If you have a child under 12, please reach out for a consultation and I will do my best to determine if I can provide services or an appropriate referral.
-
Nope, but I am happy to assist you in finding a provider that will support you in utilizing medication in your treatment! I believe in a collaborative process and medication can be an extremely vital tool in symptom management. I work collaboratively with medical providers to ensure you get what works best for you. If you are NOT interested in medication, I support alternative methods of treatment including acupuncture, reiki, coaching, EMDR, functional medicine, etc. A holistic approach to your mental health will only allow us more opportunities to find what works best for YOU.

Absolutely. I utilize texting for schedule changes ONLY, so please text if you are running late or need to reschedule. I check my phone in between clients and do my best to get back to you within 24 hours. If you have something you want to share with me, please don’t hesitate to email me. It is the best way to update me between sessions.

I offer sessions Mondays - Thursdays between the hours of 10am and 4pm CST. If you need an appointment outside these hours, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate or provide a referral. Sessions are 50 minutes long and are scheduled on the hour. I am able to hold your session 20 minutes past the hour, but if I do not hear from you within that time frame, we will cancel the session for the day and reschedule. Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment time are charged FULL FEE. Please schedule carefully. I don’t provide text or email reminders for sessions and do all of my scheduling personally.
-
It depends. I am likely to be flexible with a first time cancellation within 24 hours, but can not maintain that flexibility indefinitely. This is because I am only able to schedule a certain number of clients in a certain number of spots per day and per week. When a client cancels within 24 hours, I will only have that amount of time to fill the spot. If we notice a pattern of canceling within 24 or 48 hours of our sessions, then we will determine if spacing out our sessions would be more helpful.

Reach out to me via the contact page. You can submit a form, email, call or text me. We can decide on a time to meet and I’ll email you the intake paperwork. A valid credit card is required to be kept on file to secure your appointment. I can take this information from you in any number of ways, but will work with you to determine what you are most comfortable with. I’m excited to work with you!
